This place is about 13 kms away from Sri Krishna Temple, Udupi.It's a small village and considered sacred due to fact that Sri Madhwacharya, founder of Madhwa tradition is born here. Known to be a pilgrimage site, the premises houses number of important sites related to the great thinker and his childhood. Many legends surround this place, one more interesting than the other. The main temple of Sri Madvacharya was built on the exact spot where he left his foot print, when he jumped back home from a nearby hill in just a single hop. The VasudevaTeertha is a pond he created on his own for his mother to take a holy dip. These are only a few of the most astonishing tales of this distinguished leader.
